Commencing in July 2012 the Australian and New Zealand Association of Antiquarian Booksellers' biennial Melbourne rare book fair will become an annual event.
The 40th ANZAAB Australian Antiquarian Book Fair was held on Friday July 26 to Sunday July 28, in conjunction with the University of Melbourne Cultural Treasures Festival. The Book Fair was held in the University's historic Wilson Hall.

In the week leading up to the combined Book Fair and Cultural Treasures Festival ANZAAB joined with Victorian libraries, literary entities and the City of Melbourne to present the inaugural Melbourne Rare Book Week (July 18 to 27) an informative and entertaining celebration of books and the joys of collecting in keeping with Melbourne's designation as the world's second UNESCO City of Literature.
